History of the school
Woodberry Forest was founded in 1889 by Major James H. Morrison. Major Morrison served in the Confederate Army during the Civil War and afterwards worked as a teacher and administrator at several schools in Virginia. He started Woodberry with the goal of providing a quality education to young men from all backgrounds. Next article.
